A little sketchy doodle I thought I’d upload since I kind of like it.
Sylvo likes to sing. It’s one of his main hobbies, right next to communing with shadowy, terrifyingly powerful beings from another realm. Stabbing people’s more of an occupation, you see.
Finalkestament's character Faminus, the aurian Lord of Desire. I put together my own version of the palette challenge that's been going around lately, and asked him to pick a set of swatches and a character of his for me to draw. It ended up with Faminus and #73 of my palette set, and so I did this today for it.
Here I drew Faminus with my own spin on his design; that is, with an added demonic touch and a sense of realism over the usual style he is drawn in. His dark, skeletal design is something I’ve been very eager to adapt into my style for a while now, and so it was a joy to finally be able to work on this. Especially using this palette, which is very eye-catching and suiting for the Lord of Desire if I may say so.
On the topic of palettes, should I upload my set for people to ask me to do various drawings of my (or FinalKestament’s - feel free to ask me to do more, Martin!) characters just for fun? I suppose other people could use the set too. There’s 76 sets in total. If I did, I’d upload it and the resultant drawings here to give something to beef up this blog with.
I absolutely love this. LOVE IT. Faminus has never looked more appropriately monstrous and frightening; is there a word for doing a character more than justice? ‘Cause I’d use it here. Incredible work from an incredible artist.
Stubby Faminus wants that thing. He’s very insistent about it. He’d probably commit genocide for it. Trust me, he’s done it before.
The Lord of Desire here has gotta be my most irredeemably awful Aurian. Sure Faminus, you suffer eternal hunger that cannot be satisfied, you violently vomit out anything physical you eat within seconds and your peers constantly treat you like vermin, but that doesn’t really excuse being a remorseless lunatic that throws a temper tantrum of murderous proportions every time someone so much as declares ownership of a shiny rock and won’t give it to you when you demand it. Not only is that kind of psychotic, but you don’t even mind your manners, you impolite turd!
I totally abuse Tumblr to make it look like I’m doing things, when all I’m really doing is making a massive WIP pile of art that’s not finished. HERE’S MORE. (and I appear to be failing more and more at anatomy)
This is Dirk Traiselles, a sorcerer who doesn’t really know when to keep his mouth shut.
Dirk’s been a character I’ve had created for a good year or two now (before Homestuck Dirk was even a thing; when that became a thing, I just about browned my trousers and changed Traiselles’ name out of naming backlash fear), but haven’t drawn until recently because I was holding out for the comic I backed out of doing. I was going to have this finished for a graphics class project, but only managed to finish Solazaziel in time. But, I did have a bio written up for him for that, so I’m just going to dump a deviantArt Sta.sh link to it to save rambling any further in this “caption”: Dirk’s unused bio is here
Drew up a new species for TC, because apparently TC doesn’t have enough of them kicking about. :U TC’s utter lack of any proper fuzzy mammalian-looking race has been bothering me for a while; the alphaad were the closest I had to something like that, but they never felt like they filled that gap. Thus, inspired by the desire to make something with big teeth, batty-looking ears and a lot of fur, I ended up sketching up the Gurak’Tahr.
Not fully sure of what I plan to do with them (or this one here individually, who I’m thinking of naming Vro’Krahnos) but right now I’m heavily leaning towards them being a more inventor-y species, the ones originally responsible for and/or involved in the creation of cannons, “modern” enchantment techniques and a bunch of other stuff. Still not really certain, though. Got tons of ideas, ranging from them not believing in any deity and following some sort of belief focused around facts and truth to making them the sort that know a lot more about Terrius and Aurius than they let on but keeping it to themselves because of what others might do with certain knowledge, but I’m still undecided about a lot of it.
For now, have a hairy-looking dude who has no shirt because the gurak’tahr are probably warm enough without one or just have an aversion to wearing too much clothing on their upper body or something. Because if there’s another thing I’m tempted to do it’s to make them the token “weird” guys.
Uploading this pencil lineart sketch thing because my computer is dying and I’m worried I might not actually get it properly finished in reasonable time. Darn computerrr.
Featured character is Ser Ixton Kereno, currently featured Umbral Reign. Because I totally needed to give myself a headache and draw/design Ixton’s fancy armour.
A bit rushed since I needed to do it for a graphics class project (they were all “it’s all cut off, let’s add in feet with this stamp/brush thing” and I was all” nooo, that’ll ruin it, I gotta do it RIGHT”) but here’s a full body version of a drawing I did earlier this year of Kephar and his fancy new redesign.
The feet look absolutely rubbish, but they won’t know thaaaat.
More WIP’s. :) The character WIP is for Kestanesus/finalkestament for helping me out with a video quite a while ago. It’s his character Apollo. C: The giant tiger one is the King of Winter, a character that I would like to develop further. Ice tiger ftw.
Oh my, how did I not notice this until now? D: Omg, so very excited for this, it’s looking so awesome already! 8D Thankyouthankyouthankyou!
And those other WIPs? They’re looking extremely darn cool, too! Really looking forward to seeing them as well, especially that ice tiger; such an epic-looking character. C:
A quick upload of this rough picture of Darik from a little project I’ve decided to set for myself, which I’ve been working away at for the past three or four hours. I have no idea if I’m even going to pull off what I’m trying to do because I’m probably going about it all wrong, but I guess we’ll see as I work into it more.
In hindsight, Darik’s design makes maintaining some semblance of symmetry a total pain in the behind.
